Operating the Community Recipe Platform CookingHub

More Than a Recipe Platform

A Movement CookingHub is the cornerstone of our non-profit and our primary tool in the fight against hunger. We refused to build just another commercial site where users are the product and corporations reap the rewards. Instead, we are building a movement.

How You Can Help

We invite you to join a community that shares the responsibility of fighting hunger. Direct donations are crucial for our work as a public charity, but you can make an impact simply by being here. Every recipe you view and every interaction you make increases our traffic, which generates the revenue we need to fund our mission. Every new user brings us one step closer to our goal. Our Pledge

We celebrate food in all its diversity—from family recipes to professional techniques. To ensure this community remains open to all, we pledge to never charge for our services. CookingHub will always be free to enjoy, ensuring that culinary education remains accessible to everyone.

Educating the Community

  • Educating the Community A core pillar of our mission is teaching users how to prepare nutritious meals on any budget. We educate the wider audience by providing free, unlimited access to recipes, cooking techniques, and comprehensive guides on ingredients and tools.
  • Budget Cooking Initiative Launched in April 2025, our specialized Budget Cooking section is designed to support households managing limited funds. Beyond offering affordable recipes, this section provides practical guidance on how to shop on a budget and where to access additional community resources to keep food on the table. This program is already making a daily difference for many families.
  • Future Live Classes (Coming 2026) Looking ahead, we are expanding our educational efforts in 2026 by launching live online cooking classes. These sessions will be tailored specifically for individuals with limited resources, teaching them how to prepare healthy, nutritious meals with the ingredients they have on hand. These classes will be admission-free to ensure cost is never a barrier to learning.

Advocating for the Cause

  • Spreading Awareness: Advocacy is a crucial part of our mission. We work to continuously spread the word and ensure as many people as possible understand the issues related to hunger.
  • Encouraging Action: We promote practical steps that make a real difference, including:
    • Proper food management
    • Reducing food waste
    • Sharing nutritious recipes
    • Donating to the cause
  • Our Vision: We believe that no one in the world should suffer from hunger. If we all do our part, we can ensure that nobody has to go without a meal again.

Donating a Significant Part of Our Proceeds

Direct Financial Support A significant portion of our work involves donating designated proceeds directly to our partners—established organizations already fighting hunger on the front lines. Currently, our primary partner and recipient of these funds is No Kid Hungry (read more about their work here).

How We Are Funded The Foundation’s proceeds are generated through a combination of platform operations, individual donations, grants, and our endowment. (Read more about our revenue generation and distribution process below).

Our Future Goal While we currently support existing organizations, our long-term vision is to establish our own infrastructure to deliver food and resources directly to those who need them most.
